About this event
Everyone is welcome. The club will provide rods, if you don't have one. This clinic is for all levels of casters. Registration is not required but it will help us have enough Coaches and materials for you.
Most clinics will start on the grass near Parking Lot A. After some new skills have been explained, many casters may move to the pond to practice on water.
Coaches and Instructors will be on hand to assess your casting and offer suggestions to improve it. Beginners will learn the basic Pick Up and Letdown Cast and the Roll Cast. Intermediate casters will learn improved accuracy, aerial mending and such. Advanced casters will be taught how to assess their casting faults and corrections.
We will introduce everyone to the FFI Casting Skills Development Program , an objective method of identifying which fishing casts you have mastered and which ones need work.
Bring:
A rod if you have one, with a yarn fly (NO HOOKS!!)
Glasses to protect your Eyes
A hat to protect your face
Sunscreen
Water
There is NO FEE for this clinic. You will have to pay $5 to OC Parks to get into the park.
Come out to have fun, meet other fly anglers and learn something new! Tell your friends.
